菲克林酒庄的老藤廷塔
这一款酒是由一种特殊的名叫SOLERA的制作过程酿造而成的。SOLERA是指,在一个大橡木桶里,一部分酒装瓶,清空的部分用新年分的酒填补。这样子,酒的生命力 会更持久,并且更稳定。菲克林的这一款酒里,混合着从1946年开始每年丰收的葡萄直到最新年份的葡萄不断成长而发酵的琼浆。入口时候会有一些辣,但覆盆子,黑莓, 蓝莓,香草,樱桃的水果味道就会慢慢显露出来。
因为是橡木桶培养的,在回味的时候,会有培根和烘培咖啡豆的香味,以及一些橡木的丹宁味道。虽然有一些甜,但是较高的酒精浓度含量中和了水果的甜味,让这款酒喝起来依然爽朗不腻。
这款酒完全可以媲美葡萄牙的酒中美葡萄牙的酒中之王波特。TINTA(廷塔)多被理解为这个词是由英文TINT(色彩红艳,着色的意思)演变而来。
Ficklin Old Vine Tinta
This wine is a blend of four varietals, Tinta Cao, Tinta Madeira, Souzao, and Touriga. Depending on the unique characteristic and performance of each varietal every year, the percentage of each varietal blends in differs. Ficklin's old vines were grafted from famous Douro Valley, Protugal. They survived the Probation in 1992, and the attack of nematodes. Now Ficklin vines are about over 60 years old. Even in Protugal, 60 year old vines are not often-seen.
Ficklin Old Vine Tinta is made with a method called Solera. In solera, the big oak tank is never empty, each year, only portion of the tank is bottled for new release, and the tank is refilled with new vintage. So, the tank is a blend of every vintage since 1946. Indeed, there are some vintage 1946 in each bottle of Old Vine Tinta. By keep adding new vintage, is adds fresh fruit flavor to the aged wines; this creates a more complex body to the wine, enhance the constant of wine, extend life of wine.
The wine is very spicy in mouth, but slowly, wild cherry, raspberry, blackberry will apparent on palate, with a hint of cherry chocolate truffle. Because portion of this wine is well-aged, the wine also has a earthy, musty, and mushroomy taste to it. At the end, beacon, and roast coffee left on palate adds the perfect touch to the finish. Although this wine is sweet, but the high alcohol content fixed the problem. Tinta is commonly translated as a species of red wine grape. The word is driven from English word Tint.
